Speeches:

Understanding criteria, choosing topic, investigating types of speeches and research

Investigate Past, present, future speeches as example of tense.

Using the tone of our voices. Through roleplay we will practice expression, tone and variance. Does our voice match what we are talking about?
Weekly spelling lists: Handwriting: 2 x weekly
Students are expected to complete 2 book reviews each term.

Week 4:
Two groups this week as we start polishing our speeches for presentation.


WK 2:
Teacher group: What are paragraphs? How do they work? It is important when writing your speech that each idea is clear and concise.

Week 4: Short stories - 3 level questioning. Students share read and explore the surface and deeper features of popular short stories.

Week 2:
Scanning for information: What is the writer really tring to say. We will be looking for at how to find information quickly in books and texts.


Week 1:
The Burrs - reading and analysing the features of this comic strip community. Sticky Burr
